Church Council:
The governing body for First Lutheran. Includes President, Vice President, Secretary, and representatives from the other communities.
Property Committee:
Maintains functionality and appearance of church's physical property. Manages and coordinates usage of church facilities. Maintains and buys office equipment, musical instruments, etc. Oversees custodial staff. Oversees church heating system. Implements major capital repairs. Organizes two workdays per year (one in spring and one in fall) in which members get together to do general cleaning.
Finance Committee:
Meets once a week to keep the pulse on the financial health of First Lutheran. Responsible for budget proposals, funding repairs,
Worship & Music Committee:
This group provides personnel and materials for all worship programs through Altar Guild, Ushers, Lectors, Communion Assistants and other necessary functions. It also is responsible for overseeing that proper materials and supplies are available for music (organ) and other programs of worship. Assists minister and church in implementing programs of interest. Continuously maintains organ, church bells, piano. Jointly coordinates new programs with related churches. Searches for a new organist and/or choir director when needed.
Fair Committee:
Meets the second Tuesday of each month to prepare for the annual church/craft fair. Committee members are busy contacting vendors to purchase table space; arranging for advertising; contacting local and online merchants to request donations to our raffle table and Dine-Around gift card pack; designing the menu. Once September hits we start meeting more frequently to finalize the last minute details – including recruiting volunteers.
